TSM Storage Pools on the ScaleOut NAS System EMC Isilon have become very popular in large enterprises around the world. During this presentation we’ll briefly highlight how EMC Isilon and dsmISI simplify the TSM management significantly and how the solution provides scaleable performance, capacity and reliable SLAs. The dsmISI solution addresses the fact that TSM is somehow unaware of the nature of a ScaleOut Filesystem. Side effects of this are that TSM does not automatically leverage multiple paths to it’s volumes (unless you configure it to do so) and that the used paths would be static. To optimize the operations in such an environment, Concat provides a solution called dsmISI which simplifies ond optimizes the TSM management with EMC Isilon even further. Backup/Restore can leverage dynamic paths to Isilon without the need to manually configure and maintain device class definitions. Operations become extremely easy to manage and performance will be always optimized in such an environment.

Everyone using IBM Spectrum Protect Snapshot (ISPS - former known as FlashCopy Manager) appreciates the advantages of the snapshoting technology used therein, but also knows how much work the administration of every single instance of ISPS can bring with it.
Our product ISPSManager allows you to easily monitor any existing ISPS instances from a central WEB based console, avoiding therefore the overhead related to administering each single ISPS instance individually. A server process performs regular scans to detect changes in the instances defined in ISPSManager and their hosting server infrastructure (like changes in the operating system, ISPS version, etc) and to check the execution status of the planed ISPS backups and/or clones.
The integrated role based identity and access management allows you to group users and instances in a "many to many" manner, providing maximum flexibility in assigning of different authorizations.
In times of backup-as-a-service, cloud services and node replication it is still worth to hear and learn why a reliable cluster solution for TSM is still required. We have integrated the node replication as an "add-on" to the normal behaviour in the current version 5.3 and in addition a tough integration of Spectrum Scale (formerly known as GPFS). The upcoming version 6.1 of the product will introduce new capabilities for the next TSM server versions.

This presentation will cover how Rocket Servergraph helps companies to monitor their entire global backup infrastructure. Rocket Servergraph includes cross-vendor reporting for all major Data Protection software and Virtual Tape Libraries. Reporting includes trend analysis and forecasting. For day-to-day Spectrum Protect administration, the Servergraph Admin Center for TSM is the only tool needed.
